CoBrA (art movement)

CoBrA was an influential art movement founded in 1948 by artists from Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Its name combines the initials of these cities. The movement emphasized spontaneous, expressive creativity, often using bold colors and abstract forms inspired by children’s drawings and folk art. CoBrA aimed to break away from traditional artistic norms, focusing on direct emotional expression and experimentation.
