Coandă-1910 (first aircraft)
The Coandă-1910 was an early aircraft designed by Romanian inventor Henri Coandă. It featured a monoplane structure with a unique jet propulsion system—using a ducted fan that expelled air at high speed to generate thrust. During its test in 1910, it demonstrated the ability to fly briefly, making it one of the first aircraft to incorporate jet-like propulsion. Although it never achieved sustained flight or mass production, the Coandă-1910 contributed to aeronautical research and foreshadowed modern jet engine principles.
