CN III (Cranial Nerve III)
Cranial Nerve III, known as the oculomotor nerve, controls most of the eye's movements, including lifting the eyelid and directing the eye upward, downward, and inward. It also helps adjust the size of the pupil in response to light and focuses the lens for near vision. The nerve originates from a part of the brainstem and sends signals to muscles around the eye. Proper functioning ensures smooth, coordinated eye movements and eyelid control, while damage can cause issues like drooping eyelid, double vision, or trouble moving the eye.
