CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black)

CMYK is a color model used primarily in printing. It stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (Key). These four colors are combined in various amounts to produce a wide range of printable colors. Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow are subtractive colors—they absorb certain wavelengths of light and reflect others. Black is added to enhance depth, improve contrast, and save ink compared to mixing the three colors to produce dark shades. In printing, the process involves layers of tiny dots of each color blending to create the desired image with vibrant and accurate colors.
