CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification)
CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) is a framework designed to ensure that organizations handling sensitive federal contract information implement appropriate cybersecurity measures. It sets standardized security levels, called maturity levels, ranging from basic to advanced practices. To work with the U.S. Department of Defense, contractors must undergo an assessment and obtain certification that verifies their cybersecurity practices meet the required level. CMMC aims to protect sensitive defense data from cyber threats by encouraging organizations to adopt progressively stronger security protocols as they mature.
