Clinical test of sensory interaction and balance
The Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction and Balance (CTSIB) assesses how well your brain and body use different sensory systems—vision, inner ear (vestibular), and touch (proprioception)—to maintain balance. During the test, you stand in various positions, sometimes with your eyes closed or on unstable surfaces, to see how each system contributes to stability. If your balance worsens in certain conditions, it helps identify which sensory system may be impaired, guiding effective treatment or rehabilitation strategies. The test is safe and provides valuable information about your balance control mechanisms.
