Clinical Dementia Rating Scale
The Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) Scale is a tool used by healthcare professionals to assess the severity of dementia symptoms in individuals. It evaluates six areas: memory, orientation, judgment and problem-solving, community affairs, home and hobbies, and personal care. Each area is rated on a scale from 0 (no impairment) to 3 (severe impairment). These ratings help determine the overall level of cognitive decline—ranging from no dementia to severe dementia—guiding diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring disease progression in a clear, standardized way.
