Clavicle
The clavicle, commonly known as the collarbone, is a long, slender bone that runs horizontally across the top of the chest, connecting the sternum (breastbone) to the shoulder blade (scapula). It helps support and stabilize the shoulder, allowing for a wide range of arm movements. The clavicle also protects nerves and blood vessels passing from the neck to the arm. It is a common site of injury, especially in falls or direct impacts to the shoulder. Its strategic placement makes it essential for shoulder mobility and overall upper limb function.
