Clausius (Rudolf Clausius)

Rudolf Clausius was a 19th-century physicist who made significant contributions to thermodynamics, particularly through his formulation of the Second Law. He introduced the concept of entropy, a measure of disorder or energy dispersal within a system. Clausius demonstrated that in any energy transfer, some energy becomes less useful for doing work, leading to the idea that natural processes tend to move toward increased disorder. His work helps explain why certain processes, like heat flowing from hot to cold, occur spontaneously, and it underpins much of modern energy science and engineering.
