Classical double bass

The classical double bass is the largest and lowest-pitched string instrument in an orchestra, playing a foundational role in harmony and rhythm. It has four thick strings stretched over a long, hollow body, which amplifies vibrations produced by plucking, bowing, or tapping. The musician changes the pitch by pressing fingers on the fingerboard or adjusting the bow's contact with strings. Its deep, resonant sound provides the musical groundwork for many compositions, supporting other instruments and enriching the overall tone of classical music pieces.
