Class D Airspace

Class D Airspace is a designated area around smaller airports with controlled air traffic, typically featuring an operational control tower. It extends up to 2,500 feet above ground level and generally covers a radius of about 4 to 5 miles. Pilots must communicate with air traffic control before entering and during flight within this zone to ensure safe separation from other aircraft.
