Class Conflict Theory

Class Conflict Theory, developed by Karl Marx, suggests that society is divided into social classes with competing interests, primarily between the working class (proletariat) and the owners of resources and means of production (bourgeoisie). According to the theory, the ruling class exploits the working class to maintain their wealth and power. This ongoing struggle influences social, economic, and political systems, often leading to inequality and social change. In essence, it views societal conflicts as rooted in economic disparities, where the dominant class seeks to uphold its advantages at the expense of others.
