Class C Amplifiers

Class C amplifiers are a type of electronic device used to boost radio frequency signals. They are highly efficient because they conduct current for less than half of each cycle of the signal, reducing power loss. However, this makes them unsuitable for audio amplification but ideal for transmitting radio signals, where the amplified wave is later filtered to smooth out distortions. Essentially, Class C amplifiers excel in applications requiring high efficiency for radio transmission, but they don't produce clean, continuous waveforms suitable for audio or other audio-frequency signals.
