Class B Amplifiers
Class B amplifiers are electronic devices that boost weak audio or radio signals for better sound or transmission. They operate using two transistors; each one handles only half of the audio waveform—one conducts during the positive cycle, the other during the negative cycle. This design improves efficiency because each transistor is off for part of the cycle, reducing power waste. However, this can cause a small moment when both are off, leading to a slight distortion known as crossover distortion. Overall, Class B amplifiers are efficient and suitable for applications where some minor distortion is acceptable.
