Class B Amplifier

A Class B amplifier is an electronic device that boosts audio or radio signals by using two different transistors, each handling one half of the signal cycle. When an input signal is present, one transistor conducts during positive portions, and the other during negative portions, working in a push-pull manner. This design makes the amplifier more efficient because each transistor is active only half the time, reducing power waste. However, it can introduce small distortions at the crossover point where the two transistors' outputs meet. Overall, Class B amplifiers are common in audio systems for their efficiency.
