Class A Airspace
Class A airspace is high-altitude airspace from 18,000 feet to 60,000 feet mean sea level, used mainly by commercial and military aircraft. It requires pilots to have specific licenses and aircraft to be equipped with advanced instrumentation enabling precise navigation and communication with air traffic control. In this space, all aircraft must operate under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), meaning they rely on instruments rather than visual cues. The goal is to ensure safe, organized, and efficient operation of high-altitude flights, with strict separation standards maintained by air traffic control.
