CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization)
CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) is an image processing technique that enhances local contrast in photographs, making details more visible. Unlike standard methods that adjust the whole image uniformly, CLAHE works on small regions, improving contrast in specific areas without over-amplifying noise or details. By setting a limit on how much the contrast can be increased—called the "contrast limit"—it prevents areas from becoming too harsh or unnatural. This approach helps in revealing fine details in images such as medical scans, satellite photos, or low-light photographs, resulting in clearer, more informative visuals.
