cladogram

A cladogram is a visual tool used by biologists to show how different species are related through evolution. It resembles a family tree, where each branch point, or "node," represents a common ancestor shared by the groups that branch out from it. The closer two species are on the diagram, the more recently they shared a common ancestor and the more similar they tend to be. Cladograms help us understand the evolutionary history and relationships among organisms by illustrating shared features and divergence points over time.
