Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a New Deal program established in 1933 during the Great Depression. It provided jobs for young men, ages 18 to 25, who were unemployed and struggling to support their families. Participants worked on environmental conservation projects, such as planting trees, building parks, and improving public lands. The CCC not only helped restore natural resources and infrastructure but also offered training and a sense of purpose. It lasted until 1942, employing over three million young men and leaving a lasting impact on America's natural landscape and public parks.
