Civil Government of the Republic of China
The Civil Government of the Republic of China (ROC) refers to the system of political and administrative authority established to govern Taiwan and, historically, mainland China. It is characterized by a republican structure with elected leaders, a constitution, and institutions that oversee public policy, law, and order. The government operates through executive, legislative, and judicial branches, aiming to promote national development, ensure citizen rights, and maintain social stability. Since relocating to Taiwan after 1949, the ROC's civil government functions independently, with its own electoral processes and administrative agencies, distinct from the People's Republic of China.
