Ciudadanía
Ciudadanía refers to the status of being a recognized member of a country with specific rights and responsibilities. It grants individuals legal protections, the ability to participate in civic life—such as voting, working, and accessing services—and a sense of belonging within a community. Citizenship can be acquired by birth, descent, or naturalization, and it entails both rights, like freedom of expression, and duties, such as obeying laws and paying taxes. Overall, ciudadanía is the formal relationship between an individual and the state that defines their social and political participation.
