CITE-seq

CITE-seq (Cellular Indexing of Transcriptomes and Epitopes by Sequencing) is a technique that allows scientists to study individual cells in detail. It combines two types of information: gene activity (transcriptomes) and protein markers on the cell surface. Using special tags called antibodies linked to DNA sequences, CITE-seq can identify specific proteins while also capturing a cell's gene expression profile. This dual approach provides a comprehensive view of cell identity and state, helping researchers better understand complex biological systems and diseases at a single-cell level.
