CIS (Contact Image Sensor)

A Contact Image Sensor (CIS) is a type of technology used primarily in scanners and digital copiers. It captures images by directly contacting the document being scanned. The CIS consists of a row of tiny light sensors that work together to convert light reflected from the document into digital data. As the scanner moves across the page, the CIS records the image line by line. This method is compact, efficient, and allows for high-quality image capture while keeping the device lightweight and portable compared to traditional flatbed scanners.
