CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport)

Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) was the national governing body for university athletics in Canada, overseeing varsity sports across universities. It organized competitions, set rules, and promoted student-athlete development. In 2019, CIS was rebranded as U Sports to better reflect its mission of enhancing the student-athlete experience and promoting university sports nationally. U Sports continues to support a wide range of sports, providing student-athletes with opportunities for competition, growth, and exposure, while emphasizing academic achievement alongside athletic excellence.
