CIPP/A stands for Context, Input, Process, and Product Evaluation, Area A—Context Evaluation. It’s a systematic way to assess educational programs or initiatives. Context evaluation examines the environment, needs, and stakeholders to understand the setting. Input evaluation reviews the resources, strategies, and plans used to achieve goals. Process evaluation monitors how the program is being implemented, ensuring it follows the plan. Product evaluation assesses the outcomes and effectiveness of the program. Area A focuses specifically on understanding the context to inform all other evaluation stages, helping stakeholders make informed decisions about planning, improvement, or continuation.
