Church of England Assembly (Assembly of the Church of England)
The Assembly of the Church of England, often referred to as the Church of England Assembly, was a governing body established to address issues concerning the church and its operations. Formed in the early 20th century, it aimed to bring together clergy and laity to discuss matters like church governance, finance, and mission. The assembly played a role in shaping church policies and fostering engagement among its members. Though it served a significant purpose, it was eventually replaced by the General Synod in 1970, which continues to oversee the Church of England's affairs today.
