Church Assembly (UK)

The Church Assembly was a governing body of the Church of England, established in 1920 and operating until 1969. It served as a forum for discussion and decision-making on church matters, bringing together clergy and lay representatives to address issues like doctrine, worship, and social concerns. It played a significant role in shaping church policy and governance. In 1969, it was replaced by the General Synod, which transformed the structure of church governance to enhance representation and decision-making within the Church of England.
