Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was a Nigerian military officer and leader who became prominent during Nigeria’s civil war in the late 1960s. He was the founder and leader of the Biafran separatist state, which declared independence due to ethnic and political tensions. Ojukwu sought to defend the Igbo people’s rights amidst violence and discrimination. His leadership during the Biafran War made him a significant figure in Nigerian history, symbolizing resistance and regional identity. After the war, he remained active in politics and law until his death in 2011.
