Chukker

A chukker is a specific period of play in polo, similar to a quarter or inning in other sports. Each match is divided into several chukkers, typically lasting around 7 minutes each. During a chukker, both teams compete to score goals by hitting a ball with their mallets while riding horses. The game pauses briefly between chukkers for players to rest, switch horses if needed, and discuss strategy. Chukkers help organize the game into manageable segments, maintaining pace and enabling fair play. The team with the most goals at the end of all chukkers wins the match.
