Chronostasis
Chronostasis is a temporary visual illusion where your perception of time feels distorted, often experienced as a 'stopping' or elongation of a moment. For example, when you quickly glance at a clock, the second hand may appear to linger longer than usual at the start, making it seem like time has paused briefly. This occurs because your brain takes a moment to process new visual information, especially when shifting attention rapidly. Essentially, it's a short-lived mismatch between actual time and your perception of it, caused by how your brain processes sensory input during quick eye movements.
