Chronic exposure

Chronic exposure refers to coming into contact with a substance or environmental factor repeatedly or continuously over a long period, often months or years. This can happen through breathing, eating, or skin contact. Unlike a one-time exposure, chronic exposure may cause gradual health effects that develop slowly and might not be immediately noticeable. Examples include long-term exposure to air pollution or workplace chemicals. It’s important because sustained contact can lead to health problems over time, such as respiratory issues, cancers, or other chronic conditions, depending on the substance involved.
