Christmas disease

Christmas disease, also known as hemophilia B, is a rare genetic bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency of clotting factor IX. Individuals with this condition have difficulty stopping bleeding because their blood doesn't clot normally. It is inherited, usually passed from mother to son, and symptoms may include frequent or prolonged bleeding after injuries, surgeries, or dental work. Treatment involves replacing the missing factor IX through injections, which helps prevent excessive bleeding. With proper management, most individuals can lead active lives, but they need to monitor and manage bleeding risks carefully.
