Christian and Islamic history
Christianity and Islam are two major monotheistic religions that originated in the Middle East. Christianity began in the 1st century CE, centering on Jesus Christ’s teachings, emphasizing love, grace, and salvation through faith. It spread throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and beyond, forming diverse branches like Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodoxy. Islam arose in the 7th century CE with Prophet Muhammad’s revelations in Mecca, emphasizing submission to one God (Allah) and following the Quran. It quickly expanded across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, developing rich traditions including Sunni and Shia branches. Both religions have significantly shaped world history, culture, and values.
