Chrismation

Chrismation is a Christian sacrament, primarily in Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches, where individuals receive the Holy Spirit through an anointing with blessed oil called chrism. Usually administered immediately after baptism, it signifies the person’s full initiation into the Church, strengthening their faith and spiritual connection. The anointing symbolizes being sealed with the Holy Spirit, empowering believers to live according to Christian teachings and participate actively in church life. Essentially, Chrismation confirms and deepens the grace received at baptism, fostering spiritual growth and unity with the larger Christian community.
