Chris Dodd is an American politician and attorney known for his long career in the U.S. Senate, representing Connecticut from 1981 to 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, playing a key role in addressing financial regulation, including the response to the 2008 financial crisis. Dodd also ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. After leaving the Senate, he has remained active in various public and private sector roles, including working with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to advocate for the entertainment industry.
