Chris Burden (artist)

Chris Burden was an influential American artist known for his provocative performance and installation art. Active mainly in the 1970s, he often pushed the boundaries of art by incorporating themes of vulnerability, endurance, and risk. His famous works include "Shoot," where he was shot in the arm, and "Trans-Fixed," in which he was crucified on a Volkswagen. Burden's art explored the relationship between artist and audience, as well as societal issues.
