Chondroplasty

Chondroplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at repairing damaged cartilage, the smooth tissue that covers the ends of bones in joints. It is often performed when cartilage is worn down or injured, leading to pain and reduced mobility. The surgery involves smoothing the damaged cartilage or, in some cases, removing loose fragments to improve joint function and relieve discomfort. Chondroplasty is commonly done in the knee, but can also be applied to other joints. It is typically minimally invasive, allowing for quicker recovery compared to more extensive surgeries.
