Chloroplast membrane

Chloroplast membranes are layers inside plant cells that act like protective and functional barriers around the chloroplast, which is the part of the cell where photosynthesis occurs. These membranes control what enters and exits the chloroplast, allowing nutrients in and waste out. The outer membrane surrounds the entire chloroplast, while the inner membrane contains structures called thylakoids where sunlight energy is captured to make food for the plant. Together, these membranes work like a filter and a platform for converting sunlight into chemical energy, vital for plant growth.
