Chk2 inhibitors

Chk2 inhibitors are drugs designed to block the activity of the Chk2 enzyme, which plays a key role in the cell's response to DNA damage. When DNA is damaged, Chk2 helps pause cell division so repairs can occur or, if damage is too severe, triggers the cell to die. In cancer treatment, inhibiting Chk2 can make cancer cells less able to repair DNA damage caused by therapies like radiation or chemotherapy, making these treatments more effective at killing the cancer cells. Essentially, Chk2 inhibitors help undermine the cancer cells' defense mechanisms, aiding in their destruction.
