Chivas USA was a professional soccer team based in Los Angeles, part of Major League Soccer (MLS), and affiliated with the Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara. Founded in 2004, it aimed to promote Hispanic and Mexican-American soccer fans. The team struggled with consistent performance and fan support, and despite efforts to grow its presence, it faced financial challenges. In 2014, MLS decided to shut down Chivas USA due to these issues. The franchise was then replaced by LA Galaxy II, serving as a developmental team for the sport.
