Chinese Republic

The Chinese Republic, officially known as the Republic of China, was established in 1912 after overthrowing the Qing Dynasty, ending thousands of years of imperial rule. It aimed to modernize China with a government based on democratic principles, but faced internal conflicts, warlordism, and Japanese invasion. Throughout its history, it struggled with political instability, civil war, and economic challenges. Today, the Republic of China primarily governs Taiwan, where it maintains a separate government from mainland China, which is under the People's Republic of China.
