Chediak-Higashi syndrome

Chediak-Higashi syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects the immune system and other body functions. It causes abnormal growth of certain cell structures, leading to problems like increased infections, easy bruising, and neurological issues. People with this condition often have pale skin and eyes, and their immune cells can't effectively fight germs. The disorder results from a mutation that impairs how cells process and transport materials, making it harder for the body to defend itself. Without treatment, it can lead to severe health problems, but early diagnosis and management can improve quality of life.
