CHD4 (also known as Mi-2β)

CHD4, also known as Mi-2β, is a protein that helps regulate how genes are turned on and off in our cells. It is part of a larger complex called the NuRD complex, which plays a key role in modifying the structure of DNA and the surrounding proteins (chromatin). By doing so, CHD4 influences gene expression, cellular development, and response to environmental signals. It is essential for normal cell functioning and development, and mutations or malfunctions in CHD4 have been linked to various diseases, including developmental disorders and certain cancers.
