Chatan Torah
Chatan Torah is the celebration held at the conclusion of the annual Torah reading cycle in a synagogue. It marks the completion of reading the entire Torah (the Jewish five books of Moses) and the beginning of a new cycle. During this event, a person (often called the "chatan Torah") is honored to finish the last portion and then begin reading from the start, symbolizing renewal and continuous study. It fosters community unity, respect for tradition, and a shared commitment to learning and spiritual growth within the Jewish congregation.
