
Charles Young
Charles Young was a pioneering African American military officer and educator in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was the third African American to graduate from West Point Military Academy and became the highest-ranking Black officer in the U.S. Army at the time. Known for his leadership and integrity, Young served with distinction and also worked to improve education and civil rights for African Americans. His career challenged racial barriers and set a foundation for future generations of military and civic leaders.
