Charles Taze Russell
Charles Taze Russell (1852–1916) was an American Christian minister and the founder of the religious movement known as Jehovah's Witnesses. He promoted a unique interpretation of the Bible, emphasizing the importance of understanding God's kingdom and predicting future events based on biblical prophecy. Russell emphasized the importance of evangelism, moral living, and the rejection of traditional religious dogmas. His teachings challenged mainstream Christianity at the time, leading to the development of a new faith community focused on door-to-door evangelizing and biblical study. Although his predictions did not always come true, his influence shaped the beliefs and practices of Jehovah’s Witnesses today.
