Charles Masson
Charles Masson was a pioneering British explorer and archaeologist in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Originally a soldier, he became one of the first Westerners to extensively explore and document regions of present-day Afghanistan and India. His work uncovered important ancient artifacts and ruins, contributing to our understanding of Central Asian history. Despite facing many hardships and operating somewhat independently from official sources, Masson's detailed observations and discoveries laid groundwork for future archaeological studies in these regions.
