Charles Leslie
Charles Leslie (1650–1722) was an Irish theologian and philosopher known for his role in the development of early Anglican thought. He is best recognized for his opposition to the deist movement, which questioned traditional religious beliefs. Leslie authored several works defending Christianity, notably “The Case of Reason,” where he argued for the rational foundations of faith. He emphasized the importance of revelation and the authority of scripture, contributing to debates on religion, morality, and reason in the early Enlightenment period.
