Chargeback Rights
Chargeback rights are the protections consumers have if they believe a purchase was unauthorized, incorrect, or fraudulent. If a problem occurs with a credit or debit card payment—such as being billed twice, receiving faulty goods, or encountering fraud—you can request your bank or credit card issuer to dispute the charge. This process, called a chargeback, temporarily reverses the payment while the issue is investigated. These rights help ensure consumers aren’t financially responsible for issues caused by merchants or errors, providing a safety net for resolving disputes related to card transactions.
