CHARGE Syndrome

CHARGE Syndrome is a genetic condition that affects various parts of the body, leading to a range of challenges. The name "CHARGE" is an acronym for its common features: Coloboma (eye defects), Heart defects, Atresia of the choanae (blocked nasal passages), Retarded growth and development, Genital abnormalities, and Ear abnormalities or hearing loss. Individuals with this syndrome may experience a mix of physical and developmental issues, and the severity can vary widely. It is usually caused by mutations in a specific gene, and early diagnosis and support can help improve quality of life.
